    Question Cutting roof

    How can I cut this roof (see attachment) my second floor cut the roof.

    Wagurto,

    by using the opening tool found under the "modelling tab" you can cut perpendicular to face, vertically or a "dormer style". I would suggest vertically would best suit your needs.

    Use the "Opening" tool under the Modelling tab and cut the whole roof, not just a face.

    Rather than creating an opening can't you just edit the sketch of the roof and edit the border of the roof. Only thing to remember when tracing around the section to be cut out is to not define a slope to these sections...

    As with most things Revit, there's usually more than one way to do something.

    Yes, you could edit the roof sketch, but I find with a complex roof shape, its easier to use the opening tool, since that allows you to see exactly what parts of the roof you are cutting, so you can adjust locations on the fly.
