Space around text?

I cant seem to find a way to reduce the space that surrounds text. It like an invisible padding around it and it seems useless and makes my leaders start far away from the text note.

I am sure the Revit guys have dealt with this but its not clear on how to change it.

Any help would be great!

Also if you have ever found the padding to be useful I would be interested to know why....

As far as I know, this is still a problem, and has been for some time.
I agree, the leaders are definitely too far from the text.

This was brought up when some of the Revit developers were in town. They said at some point there was a variable for the text 'padding', but it created problems with scale settings and/or changes.

It has been placed on a wish list thought, and will be revisited for future builds.

Are you talking about multiline text, Width of text?
