    Unhappy Concrete Beams (i wish)

    hi,
    i'd like to wish for...

aec beams are nice for steel, specifically their start and end offsets (gaps); but concrete is different. though the style wizard creates concrete beams, when applied to various views (top, left, swiso, etc.) they clash at the corners. i don't like substituting wallstyles (with their cleanup ability) in leiu of beams but a pretty document is required; both in 2d and 3d.

have autodesk make (concrete) beams cleanup, similar to aec walls but maintain their beam status (layers, grips, etc.)

    Which version are you using?
In 2007 you should be able to select one of the beams, right click and choose 'trim planes' then 'miter'. Works a treat.

This would work in 2006 and they even let you clean up as you're placing them.

Only downside is if you modify them they need to have the trim plane adjusted as you described above.

    hi gentlemen,
thank you for the miter suggestion. when i started 3d, i did read but glossed over that subject. i does add more labor to a currently painful process but work it does. still if the beams could cleanup as easily as walls do, that would be nice. autodesk should remember that though producing neat stuff is helpful in a competitive world, producing efficiently is also a consideration.

Absolutely. If we could fillet beams, that would be great.
