Anyone have any further developments on this issue? You cant have two lots of linework in a profile, i.e. A line for coarse & a line for medium & fine so that option is out?
I really dont want to use the linework tool on 100+ panels, and I would rather not spilt all my panels either.
you could duplicate the view and have both on the top of each other
1 being coarse , the other fine
try that
Hey Scott...Is there ever going to be??? I just got asked this question again today. You work there now, so has anything changed since this post started? Does anyone else know about a way to get this done? Thank you all for your time.Originally Posted by Scott Davis
Problem is, the reveal cuts the wall. The thicker lines are actually the wall, which is being told to display a lineweight on the edges by Object Styles. We need a subcategory of walls, that lets us control the lineweights of cuts by reveals.
this one is a major sore spot here. the work it takes to make an elevation with reveals look correct essentially negates the benefits in speed we gain from using revit. it becomes a hard sell to project managers who, from a time standpoint, do not see the benefits of using revit.
I think a more manageable method is to set the lineweight of the wall(s) by object (or view) as the lightest lineweight. then using the lineweight tool on the outer boundaries to beef them up is quicker than trying to tone down all the reveal lines. remember, most of the time, it takes 4 clicks to tone down a reveal. two visible lines, and the two edges behind them. then when the plane is divided by so many reveals, it's better to linework the outer boundaries than all the reveal lines.
did i mention this was a sore spot?
I don't use reveals anymore because of this. I just use generic models that do not actually cut the walls, just use model lines for the elevations and detail components and masking region for plans. Hopefully this link will work...

the only way to control reveal visibility in elevation view is by selecting wall instance in elevation and override graphics of projection line visibility.
1. right click, override graphics in view/ by element.
2.change projection lines category to desired line-weight.
this will change all reveals on that wall to projection line weight override.
