General Note Layer

The layer setting in the General Note Label style doesn't appear to do anything.

I am referring to the settings you see when you right-click on Note under General > Label Styles.

This layer seems to be ignored. At first I was happy to see it because I prefer not use the Object Layers in the Drawing Settings if I can avoid them. But that is the only way I have found to control the layer of General Note Labels.

What does the setting in the General Note Label style do?

Is there another way to control the layer of General Note Labels besides setting the Object Layer in the drawing settings?

As near as I can tell, the only setting that has any effect is the setting in Object Layers in the overall Drawing Settings. I think the other settings used to work in earlier versions, but when they created that "Object Layers" tab in Drawing Settings, I think they broke things...

It's almost as if Autodesk expects you to put EVERY SINGLE LABEL in your entire drawing on the same layer. This is ridiculous, but then again, labels are one of the weakest parts of C3D, and a constant source of frustration in many ways.
