    Default Memory Usage

    Hi Guys,
I have a Dual Core Xeon with 2GB Ram and 2.8GHz. I don't have any application running such as Revit or Viz...but when I move my mouse...on the "windows task manager" my MEM Usage shoots up to 60% give or take....any idea what might be wrong?

    Thanks

It is much easier to be an Obstacle in Revit then a Resource.

    Hi!
I am not sure what the issue is since it is non-revit specific. However, you might have a memory leak so to speak. Also, do you have your mouse set to be an animated cursor?
This could be the cause of some of that memory usage. I would check and see what services you are running under the task manager.

Sorry I could not be of more help.

I have a similar problem. I am new to Revit Structure, but am finding that my machine really gets bogged down and pegs out the CPU Usage at 100% while not doing much of anything in Revit when my file size gets close to 5MB. With Revit running in the background (no project open), my CPU usage is about 50%.

I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 +3800 machine with 2GB RAM. I have an NVIDIA GeForce 6100 graphics card with 128 shared video RAM (I think). Anyone have any thoughts on why the machine gets so bogged down?

According to what I have read on the various threads and K.B. at Autodesk, my machine should have enough RAM. The peak commit charge is no where near the Total Physical Memory. I also don't think that the 3GB switch should do much to help, based on my limited knowledge from some other postings.

    Help anyone!

    Thanks in advance,

    Steve
