    Default Coping

I've been trying to puzzle this one out.

In my model I have stair stringers that cope into each other without any issues. In another view of the same model I can only see the cope in 'medium level detail'. The warning message I get is "Coping applied, but only in Medium Detail Level."

What could I have set/unset that now only allows coping at that detail level? When I go to the fine detail views the coping is there and looks correct. I can remove it, and recope without issue.

    Thanks
    Doug

    G'day Doug -

i don't have much experience with "coping" but my understanding is that it will only display in either medium or fine view settings? And then only in section/detail views??

    Hi Doug,

This sounds a little strange but there might be some condition that prevents coping from being applied in fine detail view.

Would it be possible for you to save a copy of your file and remove extraneous information and model elements and post it here? (It will help to see *exactly* what is going on in your file and the smaller we can make it the better)

    Thanks,

Client confidentiality doesn't allow me to post anything on the model. If we find the solution I'll post how we did it / found it / fixed it.

    Solved.

I know that this thread is ancient but I recently encountered this in my model as well when trying to cope HSS beams and columns. In order for the coping to apply properly I had to have the same wall thickness for the structural elements in order for it to model properly.

    Thanks.
