Default Flatten Objects to Z elevation 0

I received a civil drawing from a client and almost completed my additions when I noticed that some of the drawing is on a different z coord. 159.00000 to be more precise. all of my additions are on z coord 0.00 is there a way to flatten the image now. the command flatten didn't work. I'm not able to read accurate distances. global elevation is set to 0.00 i am using Acad 2002
    thanks..
