    Default Hiding Hatch patterns.

I must be getting old, cause I can't seem to remember what the deal is with AutoCad 2000i and hiding hatches?

    Hi

Take a look at FillMode, below is from the AutoCAD Online Help File [F1] -

    Type: Integer
    Saved in: Drawing
    Initial value: 1

Specifies whether hatches (including solid-fill), two-dimensional solids, wide polylines, are filled in.

    0 Objects are not filled
    1 Objects are filled

    Have a good one, Mike

first thing I tried Mike, no luck.

Turns out that 2000i will not hide hatches, oh well, 2004 soon.

    Hi

Are you positive.... I've just tested here within AutoCAD 2000i and when FillMode = 0 Hatch Patterns are not displayed (you have to do a Regen or RegenAll to see results).

    Have a good one, Mike

have a look at the attachment.

Fillmode only controls if the hatch is on or not.

    Hi

Ok! now I see what you're after (I think), you want to hide part of a Hatch Pattern behind a Face/Surface.

If you create your Objects using Solids, 3D Faces, Meshes, Regions etc you can then use the ._Hide command to hide/remove Hatch Patterns that are behind Faces/Surfaces (for an example refer to attached DWG file).

    Have a good one, Mike

I think my drawing has gone corrupt, cause if I paste the model into a fresh drawing, it hides fine.
My computer and AutoCad, is very unstable, does lots of interestsing stuff.

    Thanx Mike
