Default Cannot see markups from DWF composer in DWG file !!!

I downloaded a trial of DWF Composer 2 today and have three major issues :

    1. I cannot see any markups ie. redline geometry etc. I have loaded a markup set DWF that has been marked-up in DWF Composer, and the markups do not overlay the drawing in the original DWG file. All the buttons at the top of the Markup Set Manager are greyed out and inaccessable !! So I cannot actually toggle to view redline geometry etc.

    2. There appears to be no way to rotate pages to landscape view in DWF Composer and no paper options to print to landscape DWF (ie. landscape left to right not top to bottom) in AutoCAD.

    3. BRING BACK VOLOVIEW !!! At least Voloview was easy to use and actually worked.

I am sorry you are having trouble. Hundreds of thousands of people have successfully used Autodesk DWF Composer with AutoCAD. If it failed with all DWGs as you suggest, it would never have made it off the shelf.

The ability to rotate is a frequently asked for feature. It is definitely on the product roadmap. The Autodesk Design Review 2007 (new name for Composer) has the ability to rotate custom symbols. I know you want to rotate the DWF image.

Sorry but Volo View was an unworkable strategy for us. It's not coming back. I have documented the reasons why: http://dwf.blogs.com/beyond_the_pape...sk_viewin.html

Autodesk is always interested in hearing from its customers. Thank you for your feedback.

Red face Re: Cannot see markups from DWF composer in DWG file !!!

    Hi Scott,

I cannot see the markup geometry from ADR2007 into ADT2006. The "View DWF Geometry" and others are greyed out after I open the marked up DWF.
    Any suggestions please?
    Thanks
    Marv

You can email me the DWF and DWG and I can see if I can see the markups.

Thank you for the files. I know you probably used Autodesk Design Review to reduce the size of the DWF file and only send me one sheet. But in your actual usage, how is the file used? I assume you publish from AutoCAD. A user then marks up with Autodesk Design Review. You then upload the DWF into AutoCAD. There aren't any other changes are there? For the geometry in a DWF to line up with the DWG, a DSD file needs to exist in the DWF. Yours was missing. Maybe this only happened because you deleted sheets in the DWF file.

    Your assumption is essentially correct.
    User publishes DWF
Manager opens DWF in Design Review, marks up and "saves as" (to create paper trail).
CAD user open DWF up in markup manager, checks, modifies, etc.
CAD user republishes DWF as another revision and on and on....

You were correct, I had deleted model sheet from the original published DWF.

I have redone the sheet and it now works.

Thank you so much for your tips!!

    Have a nice day!
