    Default ADT Level of Expertise

Based on your use of Architectural Desktop, would you consider yourself to be a....

    Level 1 User
I use Architectural Desktop as AutoCAD only. (I do not use any of the Architectural Desktop features and objects.)

    Level 2 User
I typically use a few objects and features in Architectural Desktop such as:
    • Walls
    • Doors
    • Windows
    • Openings
    • Scheduling
Also, Level 2 users frequently use AutoCAD within Architectural Desktop.

    Level 3 User
I typically use the Level 2 objects and features plus several other capabilities such as:
    • AEC Dimensions
    • Details
    • Stairs
    • Spaces
    • Slabs
    • 2/D Section Elevations
    • Project Navigator

Most Level 3 users do not regularly use Level 4 objects and features.

    Level 4 User
I typically use Level 2 and Level 3 objects and features plus other capabilities such as:
    • Classifications
    • Curtain Walls
    • Display Themes
    • Field Codes
    • Formula property data
    • Layout grids and anchors
    • Project standards
    • 2D and 3D DWF with Architectural Desktop properties
Most Level 4 users perform 2D and 3D modeling with ease, and quickly configure content.

I feel like a bit of a fraud, as I voted as level 4 and I do use all the functions of level 4, but I am no whizz at ADT, I'm certainly nowhere near as comfortable with ADT as I am with raw AutoCad. Then again, I have not been using it for as long and I have to use ABS more than I do ADT.

The ADT Customer Council initial survey had a similar [if not identical] question. Perhaps you are recalling that?

No worries there - I chose Level 4 because I regularly use some of those items [and some from Level 3]; if the criteria were that you had to use all of the items on a Level, I would be Level 2. Sometimes you have to work to the capabilities of others on the project team; some features may not be available in the release currently used where you work.

    YIKES !!!

Is that where this was from?

I had it on my hard drive and stumbled on to it yesterday. It looked familiar to me too, but I thought that I developed it long ago. I decided to post it to get some feeling about where people stood. It is most likely a direct cut and paste from the Customer Council Survey. I think I remember now - I copied it to use to generate some internal ranking of users.

Do you think I should take it down?

I don't see a problem with it being here. If you were using to make a profit from, then I think Autodesk might take issue with that. Not everyone was invited to the ADTCC so this will hit a different cross section of users.

No money making scheme going on here. I wanted to get some kind of a benchmark of competency from the outside world that I could us internally. Just a quick snapshot of where people thought they were.

The ADT Customer Council is open for requests to join at http://adtcc.com

    I will leave it here...
