    Default editing wall sections

A while back I read how you could split the material face of a wall in the wall profile so that if you wanted to move that material up or down, independent of the core, you could do so. I thought this was a benefit when it came to large scale wall section details, so I edited my profile (in the wall type editor, where you can identify which plane you want your wall to split, it shows a red arrow at the top of the section).

We're now finding this is causing great difficulties in our elevations and want to get rid of the ability to split the material surface - we keep on joining just the face and not the rest of the wall to the roof, or vise versa.

For the life of me I don't know the command I used and I don't know how to fix it! Anyone got a suggestion?

    thanks,

Try this pick the wall- go to its properties- go to edit/new -then edit the structure-make sure the preview is in section view and go to merge regions. That should do the trick

I tried that but it merged my face material and substrate. When I looked at the wall section in the edit command, I could not see the little red arrow which shows you where you have split the materials.

i believe there is a tutorial in the help menu that describs this process. just be aware that the 2 materials need to be the same thickness. if they are different you could create a sweep, seperate wall, etc.
