Looks like Acrobat Reader 8.0 has some nice markup and review tools.
Any ideas how to create a pdf that allows the user
to create markups? Has anyone else looked into this yet?

We have just got Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional which allowws you to do all of the above, along with a whole bunch of other things such as maintaining layer productivity when drawings are converted to pdf (freeze/thaw on/off etc).Originally Posted by Robert.Hall
I'm not sure if Acrobat reader lets you do this, now that DWF design review is a free download it might be worth investigating.

I have been looking at using DWF. Only shortfall is that with dwf files, my internal customers cannot send the file directly to an external customer. A pdf can beOriginally Posted by Steve.Sanderson(UK)
used by just about anyone. There wouldn't be any need to have dwf viewer installed.
Not sure how or if Autodesk will bridge the gap when competing with a pdf.
Yeah its also a little strange that in 2007 printing to pdf is possible within Acad, especially if pdf and dwf are competitors.Originally Posted by Robert.Hall
Edit:
If you can get Adobe Acrobat Proffessional the I think it will be exactly what you want, when installed it adds toolbars to other programs (ie Autocad) so printing to pdf is a click of a button.
I'm testing ACAD 2008 in our office for quirks. We recently installed Acrobat 8.0 Pro and it only installed the toolbars for Acrobat in ver. 2006 (which is still loaded on my machine) but not to 2008. Does anyone know how to load those toolbars/menus in 2008?

Just a little FYI - we are using Bluebeam here in our office & we love it! The software is WAY cheaper than Acrobat & it is way more user-friendly. There are many nay-sayers out there who will badmouth Bluebeam (many I have had one-on-one conversations with), but in their defense, they checked out the software at a much earlier stage. It is currently on release 5.5 & I can tell you that it is a very stable & reliable product. The one thing that their software does not support is PDF Forms. In the event that you need to fill out a PDF Form and save it, you will have to use Acrobat Pro. Acrobat Reader will let you fill them out, but not save them.
OOPS! I forgot the link...

Acrobat is the bomb (thats a good thing). I've got it on my machine apparently cause I'm the only one in the office who can work it., but I find its easy and very useful. especially on the state government projects where they want all paper work on .pdf forms (lots of them and constant revisions).
Is there any way to get bluebeam to create a pdf file that can be marked up using the free adobe reader????
I noticed adobe reader has some really good markup tools.
