AutoCAD 2007 - blank preview and blank prints

We have used a standard xref pattern in a set of of the drawings but while printing some of the drawings are showing blank preview & blanks prints though we can see the entity in layout. we have seen the layer status for layout it is printable please help ?

Is your ctb set correctly?
Is your layout in the selected view of your plot preview?
Is there a possibility that you could post the drawing, maybe even a small version if possible?
Are you plotting in paperspace?
And lastly, is the layer that your xref is on set to not print?

maybe its not lined to your question but i've experienced different situation although print preview and printing both show nothing, the matter is the crazy author of the drawing make a miniature scale of the layout that on one look will baffle other users "why they cant print the layout" just print it using your plotter then required paper size then on "what to plot" choose "window" then check "fit to paper" and "center the plot" then it must show up in your print preview hence you can print.
