Default Using fields/diesel inside a block for "plot scale"

What is the best way to automate the "plot scale" inside a title block (block). I have tried to use fields, but they don't update automatically inside the block. I would like to use RText with diesel, but I can't figure out the code. I am using AutoCAD 2007.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

If you use FIELDS within a block, make sure you place them within an Attribute. FIELDS within a block that are in TEXT / MTEXT do not update.

When I used the field in an attribute it doesn't show up. I used the ATTDEF command to create the attribute. Am I missing something?

It doesn't show up when you are defining the block? That is normal.

Does the value update when you plot the drawing?

Here is a block of our sheet, which has the scale set to the pagesetup size, which is an attribute with a field. The bar scale is text with a field. Hopefully this helps.

P.S. Opie do you know when they are going to re-open the dynamic block sharing thread again? I can't wait I have some new DB's I need to unleash to us civil's...

It's working now. Looking at you example helped. One of my problems was that it had a duplicate tag defined (how stupid of me). Once I got rid of the duplicate it showed up properly. The key really was to use an attribute to hold the field.

    Thanks for the help.
