Default Unused fields need to show as blank

I have a title block which has some custom fields. These fields fill in the specfics of the sheet and are for the individual sheet only. I don't always need to use all 3 fields that I have. I need them to not show/print (---). is there a way to get that to happen. I have tried to use a couple spaces instead of text and that doesn't work.

Alright, I have tried the Alt+0160 and it leaves me with a delta symbol.
Running Map 3D 2006 using simplex font. any ideas?

    Have you tried typing \u+00a0?

Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah I have tried the \u+00a0 as well, it results in a Flowline symbol.
Upon further review, noticed that I am using asimplex text style. Switched it to simplex, worked like a charm.
    Thanks.

In 2008, a space works fine.

K, we just started running '08 within the last two weeks. After reading this post I explained to all our users that the space would work fine. But alas this had not been the case.

When we enter a space for the filed it does display as a blank, however if you tab into model space and back out to paper space, "poof" the dreaded ---- re-appears. Could there possibly be a setting we are missing.

    Thanks.

I have had this happen. Are you using sheetset fields in model space or current sheet fields. I had this problem when I was using current sheet set fields in Model space and it doesn't like it at all.

    I hope this helps.
