Angry Polar snap setting occasionally goes off a strange angle

Has anyone noticed this little thing recently, when you have your polar snap setting on occasionally when you move to go either straight up or side to side (OK 0, 90, 180 & 270) it sometimes decides that it won't do it and sends you off at a spurious angle. If someone has come across this and knows of a fix please, please let me know.

    Cheers

    B-)

Make sure that the polar snap is showing prior to entering a distance. I have had similar issues with this and I believe once I started watching the snap a little closer. The problem has went away. I think the movement from the mouse to the keypad knocks the snap off and then we enter a distance, thus going in the wrong direction. Good luck.

i don't think the problem is quite that there are times when i move the mouse in the disired direction but it will not allow me to go either horizontal or vertical but wants to send me say 3.52587 degrees off. this is even before i let the mouse go to enter any figures.

I have also seen this problem many, many times at the College in which I teach at.
The way I have fixed it is by going to the format pull down menu, selecting drafting settings, dynamic input, then under pointer input selecting settings.
What I do next is under format change the format type (polar or cartesian) and the coordinate type (relative or absolute), it may take a little trail and error.

    Good Luck.
