Is there a way to change an xref from "attached" to "overlay"
I can select "attach" and i SEE "overlay" below it, but it will not let me select it.
It was easy to change from one to the other on 2006....whats the trick for 2007?
Thanks!

In the xref palette you can change the xref type in a list box at the bottom of the palette (when the xref is selected), this control should be active as long as it is not a nested xref.

If you are using PN, you may not be able to have "overlay" as an option when you get to the sheet level. When ADT creates a view, it attaches all the x-refs needed based on levels such. This way when you drag your view onto the sheet everything comes with it. You should be able to change them at the construct level. I'm not sure about the view level.
I have tried to change it at the xref palette by selecting the xref and then trying to change it from xref to overlay with the drop down...and I SEE the overlay option, but as I try to scroll over to it to select it...it won't let me pick it...it just disappears on me when I try to scoll onto it....very frusterating....I've had to detach and reattach as an overlay...not a very efficient work-around.
This is an old post and I see there is no answer. I have a work around
I too am unable to select the attach or overlay with my mouse, but if you just activate the "type" for attach or overlay and then select the up or down arrow key on your keyboard it will toggle between the two options. This works for me.
Hope this helps someone.
The pallete is pretty dumb here. Took me ages to find the button that only appears when you hover over it. (changing path) Hey that's clever isn't it. "We'll hide the button from them until they find it. Kinda like a fantasy quest"
sheeesh!
classicxref command will show you the old dialogue box and you may be able to toggle from there.
