    Default Layout troubles

    Hi there

I'm using a A4 template that I saved as a .dwg. When I open this .dwg file I can see 2 tabs: Model and layout. In the layout tab I can see the rectangle representing my a4 template in a bigger template and nicely aligned. Now, when I move this rectangle in the model tab and go back to the layout tab I can see that that the rectangle has moved out of the bigger template. Is there a command to align the first template with the second again?

I am guessing from what I can make of your posting that the bigger template on the layout tab represents your drawing sheet and the smaller rectangle you are viewing representing your a4 template nicely aligned is the view of the rectangle in model space.

If you move an object in model space (the a4 template rectangle) and view it from the layout tab it is much like moving your car and watching it move from your house window, the window will not follow the object around.

You can get the object (Small a4 template rectangle) back in the centre of the layout view-port by double clicking inside the view-port of the layout tab and performing zoom extents from the view dropdown menu.
