    Default Open .SID files

I am running LDT 2007, and only have the Ldt menu. I have not had training on the new 2007 features before i converted from LDT 2005. my question is, I need to insert a .SID image file into my drawing. In LDT 2005, I would Insert > Image > select file. But I dont seem to have an Insert menu. I have typed 'Insert' in the command line, but can only insert another .dwg or .dwf. and not a .sid file. any help wuold be greatly appreciated.

Wish I had LDT to help you out. The command in ACAD is _imageattach, so you might be able to type that into the command line & get the same result.
Give people a job worth doing, the tools to do it, recognition of a job well done & get out of the way.

You need to download and install the object enablers for Raster Design,
http://tinyurl.com/mwhjh then use the map menu image insert command. "_Mapiinsert" from the command line if you don't have the map menu in your workspace.

I figured out how to insert it. Its a long drawn out process

In case anyone wanted to know:

In Map Explorer select the 'Add Data' Icon. Select 'Add Data' from the drop down menu.
Click on 'folder' icon in pop up box, and browse and select .sid file folder. Select OK. Click 'Connect'.
Check Box next to .Sid file in window. Select 'Add to Map'

That's one way of doing it but keep in mind that's an FDO connection and with out some other tinkering you will not be able to save that dwg for others to use, also the display of the image is not as good if you used the image insert commands. But if it worked for you fine I'll go back to my corner and sit down.

I was gonna say the resolution with the data connect would not be that great After you install the RasterDesign OE make sure you reboot all the way back to having to restart the workstation, that's the only way I could get the image insert to show the sid format.
