    Default Binding Xrefs

    I have 2004.
I receive .dwg files of floorplans from Architects with xrefs.
I hit the xref button and a list of xrefs comes up in the xref Manager dialog box, all showing loaded.
I select the xrefs, hit bind, then select Insert and OK.
The xref manager window is now blank indicating that there are no more xrefs.
However the xrefs are not bound.
When I pick the xref button again and the Manager dialog box comes up the same list of xrefs are there.
I have been emailing out files to be bound. My techsupport guy has no such problem.
    I need help fixing this.

    Hi Mike

Please note I've *moved* this Topic (Thread) from the AutoCAD Customization Forum to this one as I believe it would be better served here.

    Thanks, Mike

You didn't mention what the command line showed when you tried to bind the xref. Usually, this is where AutoCAD will tell you why it can't do something. In this case, it may have said "Cannot bind because of multiple references" or "Cannot bind nested xref" or something like that.

Whenever there's a problem, you should look at the command line. It is usually the best place to start when solving a problem.

    Good luck,
    Lance
