    Default Shadows exported to DWG

Is there any way to get the shadows created in a Revit view to export as outlines to an ACAD file?

I had a student ask me this the other day and, never having tried it, found out it couldn't be done. The closest workaround I've come up with (with limited experimentation) is exporting a plan oriented 3D view as solids and then creating the shadows in ACAD. It would then be a matter of tracing around the shadow cast in the view and saving that as a block.
