Default alignment drawing in inches, can't station

    Howdy y'all.

I've got a question from an engineer in one of our other offices. It seems that the alignment was originally drawn in inches and not decimal feet. Great for architecture; not so much for civil work. Is there a way to get the labeling and stationing to go to feet and not station in inches?

The only way I know to do it would be to scale the drawing by a factor of 1/12. Then recreate the alignment from the new entities.

This bring up a question. What coordinate system are you supposed to be in? Usually this is set up by the survey and would be a modified state plane or assumed coordinates.

If the architect is establishing the coordinate system (oh, did I just say that?) I would scale your drawing from 0,0,0 and make sure you don't have any negative coordinates.

This is pretty much what I directed the engineer to do.

Our engineer (unwittingly) set up her drawing based on the architect's drawing -- which was in inches. She didn't know to scale and set units away from inches.

It's frustrating trying to teach someone LDT by remote.
