Default Covert a DWF into a DWG?

    Hi all,
Just received a drawing in DWF and wonder if it's posible to convert it to DWG. Thanks.

Sure. Open the DWF in the viewer, copy the contents to the clipboard, use the ._PASTESPEC command in AutoCAD and choose "AutoCAD Entities".

Note that the DWF is just a fancy plot file and doesn't contain the accuracy of the DWG file, so don't expect the results to be to scale. The higher DPI that the DWF is created with, the more accurate it will be.

If I receive a dwf file, I always go back and ask for a dwg file.
It has to come from AutoCad, right?

Have you tried with DWFATTACH -command in AutoCAD 2007.

No. With DWF Writer, you can make a DWF from any CAD application, or basically *any* windows application that supports printing.

If you need to do work with the drawing, ask for the original cad file, and if it isn't Autocad, hopefully they can at least save it as a dwg.
They may or may not comply, as in what happened to us
We have a vendor that works in inventor and then sends drawings as PDF, and asks us to approve them. We had a situation where a drawing they sent was dim'd right but not modeled right,(NEVER OVERRIDE A DIM!!) and they used the model to make the casting... so we requested a drawing file, (idw, dwg, whatever), and they said it is company policy to not give those out. I think we should have played hardball with them, but instead our policy when dealing with them is now to take the scale to a printed version of the pdf.... STONE AGE!
