    Default 3d view saved orientation

I'm guessing that you've noticed that a 3d view can be re-oriented, and it will print with that new orientation, but closing and reopening the project puts its orientation back to what it was. My question is not about View > Orient > Save view - I know about that. I like that fact that the view does not get permanently changed unless "Save view"d. But I don't want to have to close and reopen the project to be able to get the view back to the default orientation, in other words to let me see how it will be printed the next time somebody opens the project. I can't find any tools to do this...

If you use the F8 key and save a new orientation it will save as a new 3D view in the project browser. You can always return to the default 3Dview.

So you've rotated a 3D view and want to revert back to it's default position?

Open the dynamic view dialog (F8 or eyeball with arrows icon on the tool bar)

In the lower right hand corner of the dialog (to the left of the save view icon) is the Undo view orientation changes icon. Select this and your view will go back to its default orientation.

Is this what you were after?

Good tip Paul. I was hoping that after saving and naming a view I would end up having it listed in the "Orient by other View" rollout.
