    Question excel in Revit?

    Greetings all,

I am wondering if anyone has had any luck inserting an excel spreadsheet in Revit? If not, which I understand is probably the case, what is everyone doing to manage/create tabulated data inside of Revit? I would love to hear about any techniques, or references, people have used to surmount this typical problem/situation. Thanks all.

With a little work you can create tools better than what you can do in Excel.

Copy your cells from excel and paste them into a text box. you loose any functionality though of excel. If you're trying to link an excel file and keep it's dynamics, you're probably out of luck. Do what archjake suggests.

I think the question should also be asked, what kind of tabulated data are you attempting to manage? Stupid question, but is it data that could be incuded as properties of elements within Revit, like adding information parameters to particular families or object types, adding project parameters to rooms or other objects in Revit, or adding parameters/columns to specific schedules. Or you can take archjake's approach where none of the above meet your needs. On top of that you can start to explore the API too.
