Default LDT 2006 - Plot multiple layout tabs with PUBLISH

We recently upgraded to LDD 2006

In LDD 2004 I could choose multiple layout tabs and send them all to the plotter at once.

In LDD 2006 I can still do the same thing only the methodology is a little different with Publish.

Our standard setup is to make each tab draft quality. We use this for every day plotting, check plots, etc. My plotter setting in Windows is also draft quality.

The draft quality is fine unless I have a raster image in my drawing or I need a mylar sheet. In those cases I need to use Normal or Best.

Here's my problem; Using LDD 2004, if I wanted to plot a higher quality I would select all my tabs, start the plot, click the properties button and change to the desired quality. (Creating a temporary pc3 file.) I do not seem to have that ability in LDD 2007. So far, if I want to print a set of drawings at higher quality I must do each tab individually. Does anyone know how to return my previous ease of plotting to a higher quality?

    Thanks,

    John

Try utilizing the Sheet Set Manager. This would allow you to select a Page Setup Override file where you could have page setups for final prints vs. draft prints, etc.

Or just go into your page setup manager, create a PC3 file that uses the better setting, and create a new page setup that uses the new PC3 file. Then select your new page setup when you PUBLISH.

But yeah, the SSM can make this whole process faster and easier, and allow you to easily print multi-page plan sets that span multiple DWG files.

Thanks, looks like it's SSM for me.

Why is it that with every release we get some nice improvements while other functions that were behaving quite nicely get un-improved? I now have an added level of complexity for a formerly simple task. Somebody hand me a cryin' towel.

Actually the SSM is very simple to use, and can improve life for a cadd person when used correctly.

Maybe so, but it seems that Land Desktop lusers are not good enough for the Sheet Set Manager to be enabled for us.

The SSM is fully functional in LDT 2007. I just don't recommend opening drawings with it.
