linking drawing to xrefs on the internet

hey everyone,

I have posted this issue several weeks ago on the Autodesk discussion group and no one responded.


I want to try and xref several drawings located on a internet site to a drawing I have on our net work.

Autodesk has a work around but I can't get it to work. the work around ID is TS74676
which states

You created a drawing using externally referenced files from an Internet location. In the Xref Manager window, it shows that the xref is not linked to the file location on the Internet because copies of the files were created on the local computer in a Temporary Internet Files folder.

You would like the xref files to be linked to the original files at the Internet location.

Solution


To resolve this issue:

Browse to the Temporary Internet Files folder, and delete the local copy of the xref drawing.
In AutoCAD, enter xref on the command line.
In the Xref Manager, click Reload.
The xref files will be reloaded, and will be linked to the Internet location.

I am trying to get this to work with no luck.

Do you have the login information, authentication request, passwords
set properly to allow AutoCad access to the file location?
