Will do. Thanks for the help trying to solve this riddle.
Any word on this issue? It's a biggie. We have the same problem on some views in our upgraded files, but I can say with certainty that nobody used the old "hide annotation in view" on the crop regions. I tried the hide at scales coarser and that didn't do anything either.
Other thoughts?
I am also having visibility issues, but with my detail call-outs. I went through the standard measures: checked VG, call-outs are on; Unhide Elements, nothing to unhide; Toggled on Reveal Hidden Elements, no detail call-outs to be revealed.
This is a file that was recently upgraded from RB 9 to Revit 2008. Before the upgrade, I had turned off Call-outs in VG. After the upgrade, in 2008, the Call-outs toggle is turned on in VG for all plan views, but the Detail Call-outs are not visible (however, the Plan Call-outs are). When I toggle Reveal Hidden Elements light bulb, no Detail Call-outs are revealed, but they exist somewhere because all the views are present in the browser. The strange thing is is that I can draw a Detail Call-out in Level 2 Plans and see the call-out bug, but not in any other plan views. In Wall Section they are visible as well.
When I draw a detail call-out in plan, the detail is created and a warning message pops up saying that the call-out is not visible and the I should check parameters, VG, etc. for settings. I'm at a loss. Any thoughts beyond the above mentioned?
Thanks,
WC
Hi All,
O.K., I've been working on this with both my vendor & Autodesk - my situation is: I have a medium/large project, 68,000 s.f. library, converted from 9.1 to 2008. If I create a new section (building, wall, what have you) I was getting a view with no crop region, even though the correct "buttons" were on. If you clicked the "Reveal Hidden Elements" button, you could see the crop region shaded, and manipulate it. In all existing sections the crop region is fine. So, problem reported, Autodesk says it's a bug to fixed in the next release. BUT - if I create a view template with an existing section that works, then apply to the new ones that don't show the region, voila, the crop region appears. Weird.
Yep. We all knew Revit wan't backward compatible. Now its not forward compatible.
LOL, nice one. Aren't you positive now Aaron? Wasn't this an issue during Beta too? I thought they said it was getting fixed before the release, but it seems not.
I thought it was fixed. No warning in the readme file and new projects seemed to work fine. So - trusting Autodesk - I migrated a project over. Bad news. Autodesks solution is just for us to redraw all the references. Who has budget for that?
So I guess projects that started on 9.1 will have to stay in 9.1 to avoid these issues. This bites.
Workaround:
Click the Reveal Hidden Elements lightbulb on the bottom of the window. The crop region will appear. Right clicking and choosing Unhide in View > Elements will not work. However, you can go right ahead and manipulate the crop region while you're in the Reveal Hidden Elements mode. This crop region won't appear outside of this mode, but at least you can modify the size of your crop region.

Latest build purports to fix this issue.
