    Default Exploding Smart Objects

Is there some way to prevent CAD Users from exploding any and all smart objects within a drawing?

Only way I know is to lock the layer they are on.

You can set the object layers in the drawing settings. Then add some code to your acaddoc.lsp so those layers are locked every time a drawing is opened.

You can always export an XML file when you get to certain milestones in your project. That way, if someone does mess with your data, it is quickly replaced.

Another option is to keep "Cad" users out of the drawings with the objects in them and reference the objects into the drawings that the "Cad" users will be using either through Data Shortcuts or Vault.
