    Default CUI Migration?

Is there a quick way to migrate the custom commands from a ADT06 CUI to ADT07 CUI? I am unsure of just copying the old CUI file over the new 07 CUI file, might lose something new that I will want.

But, I am really tired of every new version having to change a shortcut command from C for "Circle" to C for "Copy".

    Help!

    Thanks,
    Wesley

I'm preaty sure that you can export your cui file and simply import it back in. I'd call it something else so you can keep the OOTB cui file intact. Some of this depends on how your are set up. We setup most of the stuff directly in the front end. If it's just the key (typed) commands you want, simply copy the .pgp file from one folder to the other. Again, save the OOTB one just incase. We usually change them from "Acad.pgp" to "Acad.pgp.old"

Custom commands like c for copy go in the acad.pgp file at the end. Those override anything above them. this makes it easy for future migration. Also, keep office specific commands in their own cui file and load it as a partial into the ootb ACA cui file. You'll never miss anything new or old if you follow that.

Thanks for the replies, they jogged my memory. That's what I get for trying to upgrade and migrate the day after a 75% All-Nighter. I was confusing the command CUI, and the changes I have typically made there, with the Express Tools: Command Alias Editor, which saves to the acad.pgp file. That's what I get for posting without fully investigating what the heck I was doing.

Guess I better become a better CAD Manager and start documenting things a little bit better than I do! My little post-it note system has got to go. That's what happens when you have little time available....see signature below.

For what it is worth, once you have your license, do not expect to be any less nutty any less frequently. Give me another nine years, and I will let you know if taking raising a family out of the equation helps any.

    Steve,

Is there a file that saves the User Preferences and Drafting Tab settings (under Options)? I have a script file that saves some of those variables, but it was created many versions ago. I still use it on occasion, when I get a consultant drawing that starts acting screwy on me. My fear is that I end up changing a variable (with my script, circa 2000) in a newer version that I may not want to change.

    Thanks,
    Wesley
