What version of AutoCAD are you using
Sorry, 2002
You will need to purchase a 3rd party programs to do this.
Cadlock
Glenn Pope
Civil Designer/CAD Manager
River City Engineering
AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011 Ver. 3
Windows 7 Pro 64bit
I explode MTEXT.
I don't think digital signature were available in 2002, but I am not sure (never actually used that version). Check under options-->open and save tab-->security options. I don't know if it will be there, but it can't hurt to check.
There are add-on programs that allow you to lock your drawings, (CadLock is one that comes to mind right now).
FWIW, AutoCAD 2004 and 2005 will allow you to password protect your drawings.
Thanks for your help.
I'm wondering why you would even bother with this excersise
of password protecting a drawing, given that is a very simple
process to convert any drawing into a DXF file format, and then
back into an un-protected version of that drawing.
Granted they will lose the layer specific information, they will
still have the geometry.
