    Question Password protect a drawing

    Hi
    Does anyone know if it is possible to password protect a drawing ?

    You will need to purchase a 3rd party programs to do this.

    I don't think digital signature were available in 2002, but I am not sure (never actually used that version). Check under options-->open and save tab-->security options. I don't know if it will be there, but it can't hurt to check.

    There are add-on programs that allow you to lock your drawings, (CadLock is one that comes to mind right now).

    FWIW, AutoCAD 2004 and 2005 will allow you to password protect your drawings.

    I'm wondering why you would even bother with this excersise
    of password protecting a drawing, given that is a very simple
    process to convert any drawing into a DXF file format, and then
    back into an un-protected version of that drawing.
    Granted they will lose the layer specific information, they will
    still have the geometry.
