Default Default location when pasting into a view

There are times when pasting into a view that "Paste Aligned" is NOT available as an option.

So, when using a simple "Paste from Clipboard" into a view, Revit seems to offer a "default" location for what I'm pasting (marked by green crosshairs).

Intuitively, I hit enter, hoping to select the default location for my paste, but it doesn't do anything.

I end up zooming in and trying to line up what I'm pasting with the "default" location and then click the mouse, but it never lines up exactly.

Is there a way to get it to paste in that "default" location?

From what i remember you can enter "0", then hit enter and then click anywhere (not quite sure about that anymore) and it will paste in that default location. I think if you move the object away from the initial location horizontally or vertically revit displays a temporary dimension so by entering zero, you are overwriting that dimension.

Thanks, but unfortunately that doesn't appear to work.

    No temporary dimensions appear.

There are cases where the temp dims appear, in wich case you can enter 0 and you're good. But in other cases, there seems to be no way of just pasting in the default; eyeballing seems to be the only way.

    Thanks.

Just one of those little things that bugs me every time (e.g. I try to paste notes from one legend to another legend), and I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something really simple.

    How about using 'mousekeys' ?

Sounds like what you need is a left click without moving the mouse pointer - or have I picked this up wrong (I can't quite replicate copy and pasting with a default location at the moment).

    https://www.microsoft.com/resources/....mspx?mfr=true
It uses the numpad instead of a mouse and can be turned off and on.

    Just a thought

Nice try; the mousekeys is interesting (didn't even know about that), but doesn't solve the issue.

If you want to try an extremely simple example, create a legend view, draw a square box using some detail lines, then copy and paste the box into a different legend view.

Thanks for all the suggestions, but obviously it can't be done. I think that's all she wrote.

Yeah, I was having the same problem with pasting from one legend to another.

It's disappointing there is still no solution to this...
