Does anyone know how to get a Solidworks solid model into AutoCAD? Is there a translator?
Last time I checked, one could do export, 2D or 3D, to DWG from SolidWorks. If you don't have SolidWorks or some other translator, I think you're out of luck.Originally Posted by Grumpy
I'm not familiar with Soldidworks. But when ever we have had issues with converting 3d file formats between different programs we have found a program called Deep Exploration to be very useful.
From what I can tell I would have to install all of Solidworks to get the xChangeworks. I am trying to get a solid into AutoCAD from Solidworks that a co-worker created. I did read in the Solidworks forum that you can export the solid as a ACIS (*.sat) file and then import it into AutoCAD using ACISIN. Hmm. XchangeWorks used to be available, for free, as a stand-alone package.
My copy writes R14, MDT2 or MDT3 files - is that of any interest?
