Cool Import Solidworks model into AutoCAD

Does anyone know how to get a Solidworks solid model into AutoCAD? Is there a translator?

Last time I checked, one could do export, 2D or 3D, to DWG from SolidWorks. If you don't have SolidWorks or some other translator, I think you're out of luck.

I'm not familiar with Soldidworks. But when ever we have had issues with converting 3d file formats between different programs we have found a program called Deep Exploration to be very useful.

From what I can tell I would have to install all of Solidworks to get the xChangeworks. I am trying to get a solid into AutoCAD from Solidworks that a co-worker created. I did read in the Solidworks forum that you can export the solid as a ACIS (*.sat) file and then import it into AutoCAD using ACISIN. It does work as long as when you export it, it is a version 7.0 or earlier.

    Thanks for the help,

Hmm. XchangeWorks used to be available, for free, as a stand-alone package.
My copy writes R14, MDT2 or MDT3 files - is that of any interest?
