Default Revit to Max Import error

Anyone else having issues doing this? I cant get a dwg file exported out of revit to import into max.

    Solutions I have tried

    1. Different views
    2. Different Files
    3. Different exports
    4. Open in autocad before importing
    5. Linking instead of importing

Nothing works, and we just get a critical error. We have done it several times in the past, so I'm guessing its a 2k8 issue.

Do you have max 9? I think you can't link a rac2008 file into max8.

Try exporting to an older file format of AutoCAD like 2004. What max release are you using ?

I've tried exporting to 2004, then I tried opening that file with autocad and saving it down again. . . .still no go

I really have no idea what went on last night, but apparently this is one of those issues that the midnight gnome comes in to fix. I tried repeating the error this morning and everything worked as if there was never a problem. . . .

Part of me wishes that it still wouldn't work so that I could fix it if it happened in the future. . .but I suppose there a bigger mysteries out there.
