Question Family parameters in revit family

    Hello,
I had a query regarding the family parameter in revit family.I have a carved head board of a bed, till i make the entire bed in the family using extrude and sweep command in solids its okay but when i go to change the parameter value in the family types it gives me errors and does not take the new parametric value ,it extends the head board unevenly without taking the centre pt into consideration.I have placed the labels taking my reference lines ,then also it is giving me errors.
I'll be glad if anyone helps me out.
    Regards,
    Aliya
Note: I have attached the bed drawing.

It sounds as though you need to add " EQ" contraints around the central reference plane.

Which came first, the model or the reference planes? If the model, you will have to go back and move the model entities around to force a lock to the reference plane (always create your reference planes first). Then flex the reference plane, not the model. (Reference planes needed should be center, and each side, and I guess length head to foot if you need that on the bed).

Okay - Opened your family and fooled with it a minute - Your dimesions should flex the reference planes, or objects that are locked with a set dimension string. Right now they
are not locked together. The width variable should be associated with the two reference planes that you have made equal. Will work more on it later - Got to stop and go to work now-----
