I've never linked RVT files before, so I'm not sure about the best practices in order to avoid unwanted results or bugs. My host file will be a site where several 5-floor buildings must be linked. My main doubt is that I don't know whether I should generate all the sheets to be printed from the host file, or if it's better to use the host file just for the site sheets while the higher detail building sheets are generated from each linked file.

If it's an important fact, each building is inserted at a different rotation angle. I've never played with Revit coordinate systems before... my first glance at the coord sys documentation gave me a somewhat confusing experience (I'm very used to AutoCAD´s UCS, and I feel like if Revit's less intuitive than acad in that area, although I could be wrong since it's just my first glance at it).

I'd tend to use the host (linked) project file for just the site stuff, and the individual building project files for each building's sheets.

The file linking & rotation is not bad. Just bring in (import) the linked file, drag it into position and rotate it to the desired angle, like any object in a project, and your done. Just be sure each of the buildings are using the same elevation reference. I pretty much ignore the rest of the shared coordinate system stuff.

You're pretty much forced to do as andrewg says. Linking files only imports the model geometry (plus Levels and Grids). You can't use annotation families (room tags, etc.) in a linked file.
