I am trying to find a way to make a sink that actually cuts a hole in a countertop. Seems pretty basic really, so I assume it can in fact be done. I had hoped to use a Face Based Generic Model, Category changed to Plumbing, then nest a sink. All this because my understanding is that a Face Based Generic Model can have a void that cuts the host. Indeed, in the family, my void does cut the host. But when the family is actually placed, not only does it not cut the counter, but is seems like the family is actually cut off at the top surface of the counter. Before I made the void cut the host in the family the void would show up after placement at full size, but now I only see the lower part when I select it in the model.
Anyone have any thoughts on my current process, or suggestions on other ways to get this to actually work?
Thanks,
Gordon
