    Default Solar Panel Family?

Deos anyone out there have a good family for solar panels? I've found somebody that can build a 2 pick family for us if I can't find one, or modify one that almost works. We want to be able to do shading studies to optomize our panel layouts on a flat roof. If nobody has one, I'll post whatever we make.

    Thanks in advance

Hopefully this will be of some use to you (BTW its metric, based on a pv cell size downunder)

Thanks. We may be able to start with that. BTW since America is so much on the leading edge of solar we're also using metric sizes - almost all our panels come from Japan or Germany. Finally something we don't have to re-do.

Has anybody using Revit MEP added electrical connectors to a solar panel family? I'd like to be able to get some schedules going that include electrical data for the system, but I don't want to put in "dumb" parameters that my engineers won't be able to use.

I'm using Revit MEP 2009 to edit the families...

Here's one that I attempted to make when I was first trying to create families. It was a learning experience to say the least.

    Hey Guy's,

Just thought I would post this up as it is somewhat related to this post.

I needed a black material in Revit that would look right in renders for a Black Solar Panel similar to the ones in this link (http://www.ubisol.it/prodotti/Solar_..._Module_EU.pdf). It took me ages but finally got the result I was after...I've attached a screen print of the settings and two quick renders. If you angle it right you can get the sun to reflect off the panel. The good thing about this material is the sun refection while still preserving the black look of the panel.

    Cheers...
