    Default No transparency in PDF

I'm having difficulties printing to PDF in a 3D perspective view in Hidden Line mode. See the attached images. The screen shot is what I want: glass railings have a transparent material and the free-standing room in the foreground has been assigned transparent materials. The print shows what I get: All transparent materials become opaque.

I wanted a PDF so I could work with it as a vector image. I tried exporting as a dxf and dwg, but I get my whole model in 3d, not a 2d perspective.

    Any suggestions?

A 3D PDF won't be in vector from Revit. You'll get raster. (Correction - rater if you have shadows. The unshadowed images may produce vector or raster depending on hatches and complexity.) What software are you taking it to?

What's the transparency setting of your glass material?

I'm taking it to Illustrator to clean/tweak/etc.

Yes. If you print raster you get transparancy. Vector gives your none. But then you probably don't want raster if you are going to Illustrator.

The way I overcome this problem is simply by... turning off the glass (in windows, doors and other families) in the views I print to PDF. If I need any "defining" lines of, say glass panels balustrades, i simply draw some detail lines in the view in question, "surrounding" with them my glass panels, before I turn off glass... It's just a work around, but it works...

Jerry, that may just work for this particular problem. I'll give it a shot. But if my image was more complicated, it sounds like I'd be out of luck. If I can see it on my screen, I want to be able to print it as vector output.

Make it a support request. That way it is in Autodesk's hopper of things to consider.
