I am opening a drawing in LDD2005 and I'm getting a dialog box that is asking for font style 'ARIAL BOLDbig'. Anyone know where I can get this font? The engineering firm I received the cad file from is not cooperative.
Thanks, Todd

In AutoCAD-speak, a Bigfont file consists of 2 standard font files usually for use where a very large number of separate characters is required (like the written oriental languages).
It's probable from the name that the first half of your definition uses ArialBold.ttf.
What happens if you just substitute the standard ArialBold.ttf in the drawing textstyle?
If this leaves gaps or ? or boxes in your text, then you need to find out what other font was originally used.
It will only let me select .shx files. Can I convert the .ttf to a .shx?

Blast! I forgot that.Originally Posted by todd.80290
Do we know that a bigfont file is required? (That was my assumption but could well be wrong. The fact that "big" is part of the name doesn't really prove anything.)
Arial.shx is available here. It's an outline font.
What happens if you allow acad to substitute an existing font (per the FONTALT variable)?
Each time I open the drawing I have to go through the same dialog box to pick a different font to replace the big font. I have attached the dialog box that comes up each time I open the drawing.
