    Default Ceiling grids and lights

I've never had this problem before, but I can't insert a ceiling grid from the tool pallette, or light fixtures from the content browser. When I insert either one, I go through all the prompts, but there isn't anything there. It creates the layer, though. I'm stumped. I tried them both in a blank acad template, and the ceiling grid worked, but the lights didn't. After that, I inserted some receptacles from the content browser and they worked fine. Any ideas?
Why is it called common sense when it is so rare?

Have the file paths been altered, or if they are on a network, have your network people been moving folders about?

Nope, everything is local, not on a network. The search paths seem to be correct.

Are they definately not inserting not even at such a tiny scale so you can't see them? I'm out of ideas at the moment I'm afraid, I couldn't find anything in the Autodesk knowledge base either other than things relating to file paths.

Have you restarted the computer and seen if it works, that seems to be a universal fix for a few odd ball errors that occurr.

Nope, not inserting at all. I rebooted my computer, and it didn't work. I checked a bunch of other i-drop components in the content browser in a blank acad.dwt. Every one worked except for the light fixtures. All the other electrical components work. Even the ceiling grid worked in a blank template. When I try to insert a light fixture, it creates the layer but doesn't insert an object, that's what has me stumped. When I select all the things in my drawing, no light fixtures show up on my properties toolbar, so they aren't being inserted tiny.

You're gonna want to hit yourself if this is the answer.

Switch to a reflected ceiling display config...
