    Default Purchase Revit MEP

I have now spent six months inside of Revit Architecture 2008 on two small building projects. I contacted my VAR to inquire about the purchase of Revit MEP. As a small business owner, I was shocked to be told the Revit MEP included a seat of AutoCAD and was only sold as a suite!. This is a deal breaker for the small business paying for an additional AutoCAD seat, and the full retail price of Revit MEP.

Why not sell Revit MEP without AutoCAD?

My MEP work for now will revert back to AutoCAD.

Because Revit MEP cannot produce all the expected drawings needed for a traditional CD set. Imagine attempting to create isometric riser diagrams, for instance. <shudder>

When you purchase the suite, the license you get will run either Revit MEP or Autocad MEP, so you really aren't paying for an additional seat. They are just supplying you with an additional tool to cover any drafting needs that can be handled more easily with Autocad.
