Default Items beyond wall in elevation!

In the image on the left you see the Elevation tag and the extents (arrowed). On the right you see that the door on the left and the wall on the right, both beyond the wall nearest the elevation tag, are showing up. The elevation is Hidden Line view, no graphic override has been applied to the wall, the material of the wall is 0% transparent. And I don't think I could make the wall show hidden lines anyway, as I can't select the wall or door beyond.
Now, if I pull the elevation tag extents back till it doesn't encompass the door, the door drops out, but I need it to go where it is because I need to see the rear wall on the right.
    So, anyone have any thoughts?

Also, this seems to be a good argument for the ability to jog the extents of the elevation. I have run into this need with sections also. Anyone else find you need that?

In the stacked image, one is Shading, one is shading with edges. Neither shows what I think it should, and I think there is a hint to my problem there, but I am just not sure what it means.

    Thanks,
    Gordon

Eh? Looks to me like you have the cut plane for the elevation slicing room 101 - rather than to the west of Room 101 as it should be.

The far clip is to the right of the back wall of room 101 so that the wall and door (note 10) show up in the elevation also. In any case, it would seem to me that while the contents of room 101 are within the extents of the elevation view, that wall nearest the elevation tag should still obscure everything in room 101, while leaving the wall and door on the right in the elevation (below in the plan) visible.

I tried just starting new from a template, drawing two walls parallel, with a door in the one beyond, and when the far clip encompasses the far wall, I do not see it or its door in the elevation, but the door is selectable. Whereas in my problem child I do see the stuff beyond the wall, but it is not selectable.

    Curiouser and curiouser.

    EDIT:
We managed to select the perpendicular walls and door in plan, then go to the elevation and Hide in View. I would still like to understand what is happening, as it really isn't behaving as I would expect, but at least we have hide in View now. In Revit 9.1 this would have been a MUCH harder thing to deal with.

I don't think it is the far clip at all. Rather the position of your cut plane. See attached.

    Pretty basic Revit stuff...

I don't think so. In the first image, the cut plane is actually running right thru the middle of the tag, default location. Only the far clip has been monkeyed with.

Still a thing that makes me go "Hmmm......"

I'd create a new elevation in about the same location to see if you get the same results. This sounds buggy and shouldn't be the end result.

i've seen corrupt views where only support or recreating the view would fix things. Not a typical thing, but worth checking....

I am having the EXACT same problem!!! I have been searching the forum with no luck...

Here is my scenario: I have 6 elevations, all of them are working perfectly except for one! The wall appears to be almost transparent...incorrectly showing the columns, perpendicular walls, roof planes and windows that all sit behind the wall plane...I even have a problem with the wall sweeps. The sweep, which sits 2" in front of the wall plane is showing the brick hatch beyond...which is not happening on any of my other elevations! I attached an image of the 'bad' elevation as well as the 'good' adjacent elevation. Please note the 3D, some of the elements that are showing are not even touching the wall plane.

    I have tried:
-Moving the cut plane and view depth
-Creating a brand new elevation view
-Mirroring a properly functioning elevation view
-Hiding the elements in the view that are incorrect

I have had to settle for the last option...but it does not solve the hatch problem.

    HELP!!!

Try duplicatung the view and see if it helps. If so, then delete the older view and use the new one.

You can also try creating a view template from a working elevation and apply that to the elevation you are having problems.
