Aluminum Storefront Family

I would like to add a simple storefront entrance to a project but could not find a ready made family in the Web Library, Rugi, etc. I might have missed it? Tried modifying a fixed window but can't get it to sit in the wall right. It projects out from the face of the wall (still learning about creating families). All I need is a 1 3/4" x 4" frame section type storefront. Anyone know where I can find one that's already been created?

There is a standard curtain wall storefront that is in the shipped Metric template. I assume there would be one in the Imperial template also.

Have you tried using the Curtainwall tool to create your storefront? Typically, a storefront is not a pre-loaded family, but rather created to your own configuration using the Curtainwall tool. Create a wall, change its properties to Curtainwall in the Properties pull-down, then use the Curtain Grid and Mullions tool under the Modeling tab to create the grid and add mullions.

I am sure that there are better ways to do storefront, but I just model them in place. I find that no two storefronts I do are the same. If you do have a bunch that are the same you can just copy them from location to location. The only bad part of that is I don't like to model the openings with the window because it does make them difficult to copy and rotate. I create the openings by editing the elevation of the wall. I just feel like I have more control over the windows that way.

I know I've posted numerous aluminium storefront windows and doors on Rugi a while ago. some have transoms, some sill mullions some single sidelites, some double. So you should be able to take one of those and modify as needed.

I typically make them as door and window families if I need multiple instances. Curtain walls are great in design but I usually need to schedule them as windows or doors.
