    Default custom tool palettes

I am working with ADT2007 and we are about to upgrade to 2008. I have created custom tool palettes that I would like to transfer over. I tried to find where the tool palettes might be saved, so I could just copy the file, but I can't seem to find that. I know you can put them into the content browser, but I really don't like that. I've used the content browser when I upgraded to 2007. When I brought in my palettes from the content browser, I wasn't able to modify (add/delete) them anymore. I was hoping there was an export/import of the palettes but I have yet to find that. Is there an easy way to get my tool palettes into 2008?

Look in Options under tool palette storage for the path which contains your tool palettes.

ADT does not have an import/export option for tool palettes.

Once you take palettes or tools from a Content Browser Library (CBL) you can turn off the Auto-refresh by right clicking the tool or palette and in the tool (or palette) properties you can disable Auto-refresh and that will allow you to edit the palettes locally and remove the dependancy on the CBL.

If your palettes were created with the default ADT palette location, good luck seperating the default palettes from your custom ones. You would be better off dragging the palettes from your system into a CBL and setting a new tool palette path in ADT to a new (different) location, dragging the palettes from the CBL into ADT and then turning off the autorefresh.

I could be way off base here but wouldnt the profile bring these through into the new version? Aslong as the tool palettes are storaged in the same place?

(Sorry if im way off, its one of those days lol)

It "might" and "should in theory", however I haven't ever used the migration utility due to its unpredictable nature.

you can also set a path to your tool palettes in the options and import them through the customize palettes feature.
This aggression will not stand. Man.
