    Default select by material assigned

Hi, all. Is there a way to select objects based on the material assigned to them? For example, we cant give sub category to curtain wall mullions, the only way to distinguish different mullions of curtain wall is from material (maybe there's better way?).
    Thanks in advance!

What do you mean by select ?
You can have different type that use the same profile, so you could sort them this way in a schedule.

If you are looking to create a selection set for editing purposes, then I believe you are out of luck. You can't apply a filter based on material unless you create a new shared parameter for it. The OOTB material is not an available parameter.
As Daniel suggests, you can create different types for each material and then use 'select all instances' to find them all.
