    Default Organization - Families

I am wondering if anyone has found a good way to organize families. Our template is getting quite large, and the detail items and annotation symbols menus are hard to keep clean.

    Hi Matthew,
We do a lot of consulting work around this topic, so I'll weigh in here. Most of the companies that we support are implementing a strategy of using a Master Format or simliar numeric-based naming structure to help keep the Detail Components, Annotation Symbols, and other custom and system Families organized. It also really helps spot the anomolies when you implement this kind of system. Now doubt this is not a "one-and-done" type of task, but then again, who said being a BIM Manager was easy!

This video shows an example of what the before and after organization can look like, for the Detail Components, as an example.
