    Default Non-scaling annotation symbol

For condo units, etc. we need an annotation that can be dropped in representing the clear floor space in front of appliances, fixtures, etc.

We would rather it be an annotation element that is view specific. Since symbols scale with views and this element needs to represent the exact clear floor space does anyone have ideas for how to accomplish this?

Use a generic annotation with a shared parameter to achieve that.

Why not make it symbolic lines as part of the appliance family?
If you need it to be view specific you can add a yes/no parameter to control visibility of the lines.

How is that view specific? I tried the suggestion with multiple views and when I turned it off in one, it turned off in the other view as well.

    Thanks!

We could place some of them as symbolic lines in the appliance family files but in some cases the code allows for variable locations of the clear space. So some families would have the clearances and some would need to be "manually" placed.

    Thanks again for the advice!

This is what we do for housing units but instead of yes/ no parameter
we use a separate line category for FHA/ADA clearances, and control then in each view through view templates

Make sure you create the parameter as an instance parameter and you should be able to control it for each insert of the family.
